Note: Biomersive is a wellness tool, not a medical provider. This policy describes our commitment to your privacy while acknowledging the sensitive nature of the health data you entrust to us.

We believe your health data belongs to you. Our platform is built on three core pillars:

• User Control: You own your documents. You can download or delete them at any time.
• Data Integrity: We do not sell your personal or health information to third parties for marketing or any other purpose.

A. Information You Provide

• Account Data: Name, email address, billing address, and date of birth.
• Health Documents: Lab reports, medical records, doctor summaries, and imaging reports that you manually upload.
• Self-Reported Data: Information you enter regarding your symptoms, health goals, or lifestyle (nutrition, supplements, sleep).

B. Connected Data

• Wearable & App Data: If you grant permission, we import data from third-party trackers (e.g., Apple Health, Fitbit, Oura) including heart rate, sleep stages, and activity levels.

C. Automatically Collected Data

• Technical Logs: IP address, browser type, and device identifiers collected via our infrastructure.
• Usage Analytics: Information on how you interact with the dashboard to help us improve the user experience.

3. How We Process Your Data

Biomersive uses advanced technology to turn fragmented documents into structured insights.

• AI Extraction: We use AI models to read your uploaded PDFs and images. This allows us to extract specific biomarkers (e.g., LDL cholesterol levels) and organize them into your database.
• Trend Visualization: Our system aggregates your extracted data to show longitudinal charts and risk trajectories for chronic conditions.
• Wellness Plan Generation: AI analyzes your data to provide educational suggestions for nutrition, exercise, and recovery.

Privacy Note on AI: Your data is processed through secure, private instances of AI models. We do not allow our AI partners to use your personal health data to train their public models.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your data. We only share information with third parties in the following strictly defined circumstances:

• Service Providers: We share data with trusted infrastructure partners like AWS (for secure S3 storage and Bedrock processing). These partners are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Your Clinicians: If you choose to use our sharing features, we will transmit your consolidated reports to the specific individuals you designate.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

5. Security & HIPAA-Level Standards

While Biomersive is not a "Covered Entity" under HIPAA in many contexts (as we do not provide medical treatment), we design our architecture with HIPAA-level security practices in mind:

• Encryption: Data is encrypted at rest (using AWS S3 encryption) and in transit (using TLS/SSL).
• Isolation: We use separate environments to ensure data processing is isolated and secure.
• Access Control: Access to our backend databases is strictly limited to essential personnel required for system maintenance.

6. Your Rights and Choices

We provide you with full autonomy over your data:

• Access: You can download a copy of all your structured data and original reports at any time.
• Correction: You can update your profile information or flag incorrect AI extractions for review.
• Deletion: You may delete individual documents or your entire account. Upon deletion, we remove your files from our active S3 storage buckets and databases, subject to standard backup retention cycles.
• Communication: You can opt-out of non-essential wellness notifications or marketing emails.

7. Children's Privacy

Biomersive is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take immediate steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our technology or legal obligations. We will notify you of any material changes via email or a prominent notice within the Biomersive app.
